A very personal wine bar.
Founded in 2022, Respite is a wine bar + bottle shop from best friends Hanley Mead and Madisyn Scribner. Respite features wines made sustainably, with care and focus, by transparent wine makers. We want to know what's in our wine, and won't pour it unless we do.
Sustainability
We want to share this planet with you, with our friends and with our families for as long as possible. With this in mind, we won't be using any single use plastics in our space and we will be partnering with purveyors who are committed to minimizing waste.
Merch
Eco-friendly gifts you can feel good about wearing, using and instagramming! We worked with local designer Emma Sebastian and sustainable manufacturer Brist MFG to bring this collection to life.

Our Story
We met behind a bar in Seattle a decade ago - back then we were naive, drinking questionable wine and making impulsive decisions. These days, we're a little wiser and the wine is a lot better. Despite all the growing up we've done, our friendship has always been the one true constant - a place of warmth, and laughter. A respite from the wild world.
